Talky was created by Claudia Heyn, founder of a children's German language school in and around Barcelona.

There, she saw firsthand that children learn languages best when they actively communicate, not when they simply study vocabulary and grammar.

As a mother of two children who grew up abroad and became fluent in four languages, she experienced the same principle at home: languages are learned by using them.
